The Positioning Builder
Four questions. Out the other side you get an authority statement, a bio, a networking line, and a consultation opener you can use this week.
Step 1
Be a person, not a demographic. 'Multigenerational families marking a milestone' beats 'affluent travellers'.
Step 2
One kind of journey. If you name three, you are naming none.
Step 3
Not the itinerary — the feeling on the other side of it.
Step 4
Years, trips designed, places walked, or a credential. Only what is true.
Your positioning
Authority statement
I work with [who you serve] to design [the trip you are known for] — so they come home with [the outcome you deliver]. [your proof].
Use this on your website, in your proposals, and in your introductions.
Social profile bio
[the trip you are known for] for [who you serve]. [the outcome you deliver].
Short enough for Instagram or LinkedIn. Names the client and the promise.
The networking line
You know how [who you serve] usually end up with a trip that becomes their job? I design [the trip you are known for] so that never happens.
For the moment someone asks what you do. Say it, then stop.
Consultation opener
Most of my clients are [who you serve], and what they want is [the outcome you deliver]. Before we talk destinations, tell me what this trip needs to do for you.
Frames the call before the client frames it for you.
